Through the generosity of several businesses, various groups, individuals, houses of worship, and other organizations, The James House is able to address the needs of families in our community. Volunteers contribute unique talents, skills and knowledge that assist us in achieving our mission.

Hospital Advocate
Hospital advocate volunteers meet survivors of domestic and sexual violence in the emergency rooms of local hospitals, offering support when people are most vulnerable and experiencing crisis.
∗ This volunteer position requires making a one year commitment to being on-call three times a month.
REACT and MAP the Way Children's Program Support
Volunteers assist facilitators, lead fun, structured play and learning activities.
Speaker’s Bureau
These volunteers attend community events and speaking engagements as ambassadors of the James House. Speaker’s Bureau volunteers provide information about services and programs available at the James House and educate the public about domestic and sexual violence.
Administrative Support
Administrative volunteers provide integral support to our staff. These volunteers assist with general office duties and seasonal projects such as special events and funding campaigns.
Support Group Co-Facilitation
Volunteers help our staff with support groups and activities.
